Planning past COVID-19 for educational leaders
The COVID-19 crisis has already disrupted much learning this school year. Students who were on track to achieve the Common Core Standards this year may be at risk of not meeting requirements.
This disruption has “domino effects” downstream in later years, since Common Core Standards build on each other. To ensure students are set up for success, a curriculum re-design may be needed. At the very least, these domino hotspots need to be identified.
Using our map, you can identify which Micro-outcomes are impacted right now (red), and which are impacted in the future (orange).

This big picture view enables you to see inter-grade connections, identify potential hotspots, and design plans for remediation or “just-in-time” learning support.
Frequently asked questions
What are Micro-Standards?
Micro-Standards are Common Core Standards that have been further broken down into more specific statements. To see an example, look at our introduction on how we broke them up.
Every Micro-Standard is tagged with the label of the original Standard from whence it came.
Is every Standard on the map?
Every Common Core Math Standard is represented on the map. State-specific Standards are not shown, but we would be happy to work with you to model your state's Standards.
How did you link the Standards together?
Our team of subject matter experts with graduate degrees in math fields carefully went through each Standard to break them down and link them together. For more detail, visit our introduction on how we drew relationships between Standards.
My state doesn't use the Common Core. Can we still use this methodology?
Yes. Our network mapping methodology has been applied to many different educational datasets, spanning many states in the United States. To get started, visit our getting started overview or contact us.
